The Nikon Digital SLR D3100 camera is targeted to those entering the SLR camera world. I myself am just beginning to take the baby steps and now I have a really good camera to get started! This camera is amazing. The pictures are crisp, and I definitely love the "Guide" mode. The camera is light weight, and small compared to other SLR cameras, and very quiet. I think the lens that comes with the kit is not that great, but it does a decent job. Overall however, this camera is great and earns it's spot on Oprahs Favorites. If you're contemplating between the D3000 and D5000, I would recomend you get the Nikon Digital SLR D3100. This is a great camera that combines the latest in technology with ease of use to produce incredible digital images.
